two new loves | austin newborn twins photographer

Ahhhh, twins!

I loved these two little guys.
I loved how easily they slept throughout the session.
I loved how different they looked and that I didn’t have to color code them ;)
I loved that they didn’t pee on me even once, even though naked most of our session. {sorry to my assistant who got the brunt of my perk}
I loved how totally laid back and calm their parents were, as if having twins was old hat.
I loved that their mommy was an auction winner at the Austin Mother of Multiples group fundraiser.
I loved that they allowed me into their home to capture these moments and add decor to their home.
I loved. Just loved.

welcome sweet baby | austin birth photographer

My favorite session types happen to be the milestones in life. Wedding, newborns, high school seniors… all things you in no way want to forget! Birth is growing in popularity and I think one of the most important moments to capture. It may even jump right to the top. Capturing those memories to hold onto long after the fog of the delivery has passed, is priceless.

A couple weeks ago I had my first birth photography session. I wasn’t nervous about the session itself but more the details such as: will I get there in time? will I get there too early? will it happen at 3 am? will it last 3 hours or 36? will I get a call while I’m in the middle of a game and all suited up and sweaty? Lots of unknowns. I did end up with the 3am phone call but luckily, in my excited nervous preparation, had managed to steal 24 hours of sleep in the 2 days prior to labor.

Yah, you read that right. 24. I was ready.

Mom wanted to have a home birth so that is where my job began. After a while, plans changed and we ended up at the hospital by 8am. With mom having a c-section and the hospital only allowing one person in the room because of the observing interns, the midwife and I had to wait outside. I didn’t get that “money shot” so to speak but I saw the most amazingly beautiful baby boy within a few minutes of his birth. It was a seriously wonderful moment for everyone there. I’m so happy to have been able to experience this with them ♥

Baby Winslow | austin newborn photographer

I had the pleasure of photographing sweet baby Winslow recently. His session was one that came to me from last years Giving is Awesome campaign. He wasn’t born yet at the time but his mommy was nominated by a friend of hers to receive the free session.  Here is her nomination letter:

Mollie,
I have the perfect person! Her name is Serita Enney and she has a 3 year old daughter named Berkeley. Berkeley is one of the most awesome kids I know. She has Down Syndrome and was diagnosed several months ago with Leukemia. Serita is such a kind, giving person of herself and her time. After Berkeley was born, Serita became a board member of the local Down Syndrome association. She has put in many, many hours volunteering to help create a better world for people with Down Syndrome. She is seriously one of the strongest people I have ever known. Serita is currently pregnant with baby number 2 and is due in April,  I believe. I know she would love a family session or a newborn session, but I am sure medical expenses make this out of the question. Anyways, I immediately thought of her when I saw this contest. I can’t think of a more deserving family out there!
Kim

I loved working with Serita and Winslow both.  She truly is a strong lady and deserves so much more than I was able to give.
If you have a moment, I would love if you could visit their website www.berkeleyenney.com and lend them any support you can.
For now, here are some more of the images from Winslow’s session. He’s just the sweetest little guy ♥
