A few weeks ago I was asked again to second shoot another wedding with my friend Bill. The wedding and reception were both held out at AustinSeventyOne, a gorgeous venue overlooking the hill country. Kristen was a gorgeous bride and Clayton and his groomsmen definitely turned up the fun. Despite the Texas heat and a missing groomsman, everything came together beautifully and the wedding was a lot of fun.
In my years of doing cake smash sessions, one of the best parts is taking bets with mom and dad beforehand as to what will happen. Will the baby pick at the cake? Eat it all in a dainty and polite manner? Or {ideally} will they shove it all in as quickly as humanly possible, as if it will disappear in the following moments. Usually this is baby’s first birthday and their first experience with cake, so you just never know. I’ve gotten pretty good at predicting by how they approach me when we meet.
The session was special. TWINS!! You have no idea how looking forward to this I was. I enjoy these sessions a little more than a grown adult should but with two babies?… Well let’s just say the Doublemint theme song played in my head for days before our appointment! Mom and Dad and I placed our bets but none of us predicted what would happen. See, no one took into consideration that these little cuties learned to crawl JUST. THIS. WEEK! And being in a new place?… well the cake stood little chance. Poor mom and dad. They canceled their gym date as they worked up a tremendous sweat in the hour we spent together. I got a lot of good shots despite these on the go little ones but I had to share a sneak peek picture that captured the essence of the photo shoot. More to come 
A couple weekends ago I was asked to shoot a wedding with my friend Bill, who I met at Texas School. Janna and Blake’s ceremony was beautiful. As I walked into St Williams Catholic Church, I just froze. Saying it was gorgeous doesn’t do it justice at all. Everywhere you looked were amazing stained glass windows, beautiful statues and breathtaking wall paintings. Their reception was held at the Avery Ranch Golf Club where there was delish food and great music by Texas Pro DJ. The more I do, the more I just love weddings!
I’ve started up some new ventures lately and in learning and organizing, well they have my head spinning a bit. So just for some relaxation, I thought I’d catch up on some past clients who only seemed to have received a sneak peek. This one I’ve been dying to share… Miss Alayna. Alayna graduated this year from Vista Ridge High School and is heading off to Texas A&M this fall, pre-med! Not only smart but a beauuutiful girl with just stunning eyes! She’s just one of those girls that is so easy going and fun that I could have taken her picture all day and not tired of it. We had a good time downtown trying some urban on and then looked around for flowers to give mom a little bit of love too. Loved how they all turned out. Thanks Alayna!
