Meet Gus.
He is my new best friend!
He was almost difficult to photograph because from the second we met, he wouldn’t let go of my thumb. He lead me here and there to see anything and everything.
He pointed, he laughed, he picked every flower in sight and we even had a tear or two.
He spend an adorable amount of time ‘cleaning’ the park… trash, large sticks, moss balls… whatever he could pick up and say “tash” to.
I luff him mucho ♥

I am in no way exaggerating when I say that I adore this little guy. His name is Gus for cryin’ out loud and that alone made me want to squeeze him.
He had me the second we arrived at our photo session and he smiled, grabbed my pinkie finger and drug me off towards the flowers.
Just want to share one quick shot… one that sparked me into a more artistic edit. I hope you enjoy it More to come!

I want to wish all of my family, friends and clients a HUGE Happy New Year!!!

2009 was a successful year for me and I’m so thankful for the part you all played in that. Huge monstrous thank you to my 2009 clients ♥ I loved each and every session and am thankful that you allowed me to be a part of your lives. I have so so many favorite images from the past year… some that in reviewing just warms me on the inside. So I thought I’d make a top 100 of 2009 video to share them with you all.

Just a few shots of my own that I wanted to share. Basically I was just testing out my glass… with the girl… and some of the neighbor’s raked piles. {Sorry neighbor man for messing up your hard work.}

Also a quick note, I will be notifying the Giving is Awesome recipient, and their nominator, on Christmas Eve by email. Thank you to everyone who sent in nominations. I wish somehow I could work them all. I truly took forward to meeting the winning family and sharing the images with my blog friends once they are complete.

Miss Carly is sweet as sugar and yummy like a cupcake.
This is my third session with her and as the saying goes, it proved to be a charm.

Here are a couple shots from 2007 and 2008…

And now here she is a year later. Looking at these just warms my heart.
Miss Carly had a few moments of not being herself. Nothing honey graham bears and a sippy couldn’t fix.
And by the end, I was so happy with the results of our shoot! We ended up with lots of smiles.
…though I am totally in love with her serious looks too!

I’m an editing machine this week. I’m trying to finish things up so that I can take a good 2-3 days off with my family for Thanksgiving. Aaaaalmost done with my session from yesterday with one of my favorite families. I’ve photographed them twice before and it’s always fun to see how miss carly has grown. She just shines when she smiles. I couldn’t wait mom and dad…. had to share a couple {smile} I’ll have the rest for you soon.

Recently I was hired by a friend to take some photos of her two little ones. This was a friend I knew way back from elementary aaaall the way through high school, and recently reconnected with via Facebook. She warned me that she is a bit of a photo addict herself and with that, comes the challenging ‘photographer’s child syndrome’. Yes, it’s a clinical diagnosis. Often caused my having a parent (usually a mother) who takes photos of their kids on such a regular basis that they develop an acute awareness of cameras. Common reactions include screaming, running, crying, goofy faces, and outright disobedience. My old children suffer this ailment. We are currently in search of a cure. Client mom was hoping I’d have better luck than she has had in the past. Luckily these kiddos only suffered slightly from PCS. Photographing children is a crap shoot in all reality. You are at the mercy of their moods. But I had high hopes after we choose a fantastic location in Lakeway. It was quite a beautiful backdrop! I arrived, chatted with my friend a bit and off we went to our location. Her kids were *adorable* and very sweet. Then I took out my camera. {wink} Big brother really only wanted to “pose in ways that I usually do”, which was fine.. he had the drill down so I took him up on his poses. His little sister had the sweetest little princess voice you’ve ever heard.She was willing to go walk anywhere with me. But as soon as I’d lift my lens up, she’d look down. It truly had me cracking up. At one point, she even walked down a bridge towards me.. backwards! How crafty is that? haha!! I still think we made out well. Hard to not when your subjects are such QTs!
