some favorite people | austin portrait photographer | mollie kendall photography

When I was asked to do this photo session, I was instantly excited. Excited because they are no ordinary family. She is a great friend of mine. He is one of my and my husband’s old roommates. Her daughter and their ‘adopted son‘ were two of my most fun senior clients last year. Her other daughter came into town for the session and I find is a roller derby girl… so I instantly love her!

There was NO shortage of laughter during this shoot. We did squeeze in some serious shots but there was lots and lots of silliness.
Just one reason I love them all!

Let’s see…. they had the standard wedding jumping shot.
They had the ultimate photobomb moment. Supreme!
They struck a pose…. in a tree.
They recreated the stereotypical J.Crew ad where everyone must be touching someone else.
They even wanted to recreate the Awkward Family photo shot of the family lined up on a tree branch!
And yes, oh yes… there was planking.

home is where the heart is mini sessions | austin children’s photographer | mollie kendall photography

Here comes winter! We may only have 2 or 3 months of cold weather here, and northerners may laugh at all the southerners for calling it “cold”, but it definitely keeps the Texans inside! That said, this is a perfect time to schedule a lifestyle child or family session to be held in your home! No home is too small and your home does not have to be a perfect showcase.

My sister and I go to my parents house every other Sunday for lunch. Recently, we started going through the many many reels of slides my dad collected when we were younger. Yes, we did the yearly posed family photo at church and bought each year’s school photo but it is so absolutely priceless to go though the images of our family doing simple everyday family things! Peeking out of the crib in the nursery. Playing alone with tinker toys in my room. Fingerpainting with my sister. Swimming in the little plastic pool in the backyard. Just natural, real moments…

Amazing lasting memories of my childhood were built in my family’s home and we have them to look back on forever in pictures. I would love to help tell the story of your family by going into your home to capture you in the place where your family laughs, loves and grows. These sessions will capture your family’s natural moments together. Capture your child relaxed in her familiar surroundings. Photos for you and your children to remember of this time in your life.

plus one | austin portrait photographer | mollie kendall photography

I was so happy to have this family return for another photo session! They are one of the most laid back, down to earth, easy going families I’ve ever photographed. I first took sweet Sam’s newborn pictures a couple years ago and then had the pleasure again 8 months later for a family shoot down on The University of Texas’ campus. This time, our session was one member bigger ♥ They’ve grown with the addition of sweet baby Jules. How perfect are they?!

two year old times two | austin children’s photographer | mollie kendall photography

So fun to see twins, Gavin and Hartman again!! They were one of my first newborn clients  two years ago, and I believe my first multiples ever.
I saw them again when photographing their aunt’s wedding at Le San Michele and really didn’t think they could get much cuter.

I was wrong.

One with his priceless blonde curls and the other with his killer James Dean stare…
SO so soooo adorable ♥

Mom warned me in an email to wear running shoes to the session because they were FAST.
So, I showed up to the session biting my lip but they were a gigantic bowl full of awesome.
